Nuseed has been working with Grobocopatel Hnos S.A. in Argentina since 2018, as a grain contracting and export partner. As well as supporting Nuseed’s global commercial Carinata production program, Grobocopatel has been ensuring value for Carinata growers in the region.
“Together we’ve worked from the ground up to develop this program with the aim that producers can add a specialty to their production plans,” said Grobocopatel Hnos Commercial Officer, Alvaro Fadon who works with the Nuseed Carinata team.
“Nuseed Carinata not only offers us a new option to traditional cover crops, but in this case it is differentiated by adding two key concepts our business is focusing on: sustainability and traceability,” said Alvaro.
Grobocopatel Hnos manages a port located in San Pedro, on the Parana River between the cities of Buenos Aires and Rosario, which is a globally recognized strategic grain and oilseed shipping region. San Pedro Port ships only non-GMO and organic products and is the only “Green Port” in Latin America. This is ideal for ensuring Nuseed Carinata certification as non-GMO, and that it is not cross-contaminated prior to export to Europe, where it is crushed.
“For Grobocopatel Hnos, this alliance with Nuseed was strategic both from an operational and commercial point of view. It allowed us to incorporate new services at San Pedro Port as well as offer our clients an alternative within the portfolio of products that we had,” added Alvaro.
Grobocopatel Hnos holds the contracts with Nuseed Carinata growers and manages the delivery, quality, inventory management, documentation and storage of the crop on behalf of Nuseed. Nuseed also benefits from its export services, including logistics scheduling, loading, documentation, taxes and any other support required.
It is also Nuseed’s first point of grain collection, providing critical reporting for the Nuseed Carinata sustainability certification protocols related to grain quality and quantity.
Nuseed’s Value Chain ensures that Nuseed Carinata produced locally is distributed to the downstream customer contracts, which includes Saipol in France, Europe’s largest oilseed crusher and biodiesel producer.
